First to market in 2025-after this week’s imminent release of 75397 Jabba’s Sail Barge-will be LEGO Star Wars 75409 UCS Jango Fett’s Starship, due to release on May 1, 2025. This highly-anticipated model leads the annual Star Wars Day D2C crop and will retail for $239.99 / €239.99 / £TBC. While a piece count has not been announced, we can confidently estimate it to include nearly 2000 pieces based on previous UCS sets.
The May the Fourth release last year, 75382 TIE Interceptor, was also an Ultimate Collector Series model, released for $229.99. If recent trends are any indication, we expect 75409 to include two exclusive minifigures: Jango Fett and Boba Fett. Per rumor, the Jango Fett minifigure will have detailed printing on the arms and legs, while his younger counterpart Boba Fett will have small or medium legs.
The last LEGO version of Slave I that came out in 2015, with the set number 75060, had pieces amounting to 1,996 and had a retail price of $199.99. As expected, the upcoming UCS model will be even larger and detailed compared with this one. Curiously, while the 2015 model was based on Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, the new model will be based on the prequels.
Jango Fett’s Starship is going to be very updated in design, with features like specially crafted cockpit pieces, the curvature of the ship, and rotatable wings. Access to the cockpit should be easy, and the interior will most probably include a loading bay and several storage areas.
Expect as with past UCS sets, a number of stud shooters and other interactive features to feature in the Starship, as well as a black display stand and a printed UCS information plaque, at its $240 price tag.
