Exciting news for Sonic the Hedgehog fans! Metal Sonic and Super Shadow may just make their debut in 2025, appearing in an initial wave of three sets.
Via Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat, it appears these Sonic the Hedgehog sets will be coming in the first half of next year and at very reasonable price points. The wave consists of:
77001 Sonic’s Campfire Showdown: 177 pieces, $20
77002 Cyclone vs. Metal Sonic: 290 pieces, $35
77003 Super Shadow vs. Biolizard: 419 pieces for $ 40
Sonic the Hedgehog: New Characters Joining the Lineup
At least two new characters are getting added with the new sets: Super Shadow and Metal Sonic. Super Shadow is an upgraded version of Shadow the Hedgehog, which joined the LEGO roster just this year. Metal Sonic is a sonic robot created by Dr. Eggman, being the rival of sonic.
It is well past time these characters were minifigures. Super Shadow will, more than likely, only require a recolored headpiece of normal Shadow. The interesting thing to see, though, will be how they design Metal Sonic, whether they just use the normal minifigure body or design something to emphasize his robotic features.
Unique Builds on the Horizon
With the sets promising unique builds-especially with the Cyclone, which teases the return of Tails, the designer of this vehicle-the details of 77001 Sonic’s Campfire Showdown remain a mystery. Until today, fans have been anxiously waiting to learn more.
Conclusion
These are the rumors so far, but again, no guarantee that this will be the final lineup for the Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO sets in 2025, but so far, lego_minecraft_goat has been a reliable source. Keep an eye on this space!
